We'd like to introduce you to the three couples currently in our Residency Program. Lord willing, these folks represent three new gospel-proclaiming churches to be planted in New England and Africa.
Derek and Elizabeth Bass

Derek and Elizabeth started the Residency Program in the Fall of 2007 in parallel to finishing Derek's Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a focus in Old Testament Studies. In December 2008 he successfully defended his thesis and has now completed his Ph.D. In 2011, Derek and Elizabeth will graduate the NETS Residency Program when they will be sent to the Providence, R.I. area to begin a new gospel-proclaiming church. Until that time, Derek is also serving as the Youth Pastor at Christ Memorial Church.

Scott and Julie Terry

Scott and Julie came to NETS from Murfreesboro, Tennessee where Scott was the associate pastor at Belle Aire Baptist Church. Scott received his M.Div. through The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and moved to Vermont in July, 2008. Scott & Julie are currently in the Residency Program and they are excited to plant a church in Portland, Maine in 2010.
Shadrach and Gladys Vegah

Shadrach and Gladys are from Bamenda, Cameroon in Africa where Shadrach was the Senior Pastor of the largest Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) church in Bamenda. After hearing about NETS, and seeing NETS graduate Sam Jato plant Redeemer Baptist Church, Shadrach became excited about the prospect of church planting. He has resigned his pastorate and is now obtaining his M.Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Shadrach began the NETS Residency Program in 2008, and Gladys and the children joined him in 2009. Shadrach and Gladys' goal is to return to Cameroon to plant a church and help Sam start NETS-Africa, an indigenous church planting ministry in Africa.
