This week is a busy one for NETS and NETS President Wes Pastor. Wednesday he'll share the stage with Tim Keller in NYC, presenting thoughts on church planting at The Gospel in the City, an off-site Masters-level course offered by Redeemer Seminary in conjunction with Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Then on Thursday he and our current NETS residents, along with NETS Executive VP Dave Appenzeller, will head to Washington, DC for a five-day 9Marks "Weekender" with Mark Dever and the folks at Capitol Hill Baptist Church. Be in prayer for Wes and the NETS crew as they teach and learn.

For nine years now, NETS has exclusively held an annual fundraising banquet in Burlington, VT. That all changed on November 6, when NETS hosted its first (what we hope to be annual) banquet in Louisville, KY. With 210 in attendance at the Hilton Garden Inn, it was a wonderfully encouraging evening of sharing our excitement for proclaiming the gospel in New England and abroad.
Keynote speaker Dr. Bruce Ware, Professor of Christian Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary explained why he is so fond of NETS - because NETS is training men to preach the gospel which is the only hope for New England. Attendees also heard from Chris Bass (Redeemer Fellowship Church), Scott Terry (future NETS church planter to Portland, ME), and Steve Matteucci (Sr. Pastor of Clifton Heights Baptist Church in Louisville). What an evening of clarifying the vision and rejoicing over what God has been pleased to do thus far!
And the Lord blessed us financially, too. Over 80 people committed to pray for NETS weekly, $450 was raised in new monthly support and about $10,000 in one time gifts toward renovating the RFC parsonage (with 15 people donating a week of their time as well).
We praise God for a wonderful, gospel-saturated evening!

What a tremendous encouragement! This year's Conference for Pastors & Lay Leaders, held October 19, saw over 200 attend (with more than 50 New England pastors). Dr. D. A. Carson spoke in 5 sessions entitled, Discovering Jesus in the Old Testament, The Gospel According to Jeremiah, and was a tremendous example for us to preach the gospel from all of scripture.
Many of you have asked about conference audio, and we will post all 5 sessions to our website shortly. These will be free to stream or download online. Stay tuned! |
